I washed the plums, cut them in half and put them in hot water with rum. After 15 minutes I drained them in a sieve.
I separated the egg whites from the yolks. I beat the egg whites well, gradually adding the sugar, then the hot water. When the sugar is almost melted, I add the yolks one by one. Then I put the oil, mixing continuously.
I mixed the flour with the baking powder, then I incorporated it in the composition. At the end I put the vanilla essence.
I put the composition in a tray greased and lined with baking paper. I mixed the plums with a tablespoon of flour, then I placed them at relatively equal distances. I put the tray in the oven for 1 hour, on low heat.
At the end I powdered the cake with powdered sugar.
I cut the cake so that there is a plum in the middle of each piece.
The slightly sour taste of the plum went great with the sweet and vanilla dough.
