Tzatziki is the most famous yogurt sauce in the world. It is of Greek origin and very easy to make, refreshing and goes well with meat, fish and vegetables, salads, french fries, boiled vegetables.

Authentic tzatziki sauce in just 5 minutes


  • A fresh cucumber with shell + 3-4 slices of cucumber for decoration
  • 250 grams of Greek goat yogurt (2% or 10% fat, as your figure allows)
  • 2 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (two for sauce, one for decoration)
  • Salt to taste
  • Half a bunch of freshly chopped dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method of preparation

Put the cucumber on the grater with small mesh and squeeze the juice well into the fist. Mix the yogurt with the finely chopped garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt in a bowl. Add the grated cucumber and drain the juice, chopped dill and mix well.

Over the combination of yogurt and cucumber add the slices of cucumber and a few drops of olive oil.

If you are in no hurry, leave the tzatziki sauce in the fridge overnight - it will taste better and less "garlicy". Good appetite!
